Oil Pulling - ADA says NO evidence of benefits
What did we learn last week from the Heal documentary? That there are age old modalities that do work! Of course there is a place for dental visits and traditional home oral care, but do we really think the ADA will invest in Oil Pulling research? Hmmmwaterfall-essential-ayurveda.jpg

Oil Pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic medicinal practice that dates back 3,000 years or more.
The reason I love Ayurveda is because it is a science, and there is science behind Oil Pulling. The single cell microorganisms inside your mouth have a fatty outer skin which sticks to the oil when you swish it around in your mouth. Those ancient sages really knew their stuff!

Oil pulling is done by placing about a tablespoon of oil in your mouth.
Slowly and gently swish the oil around the mouth, teeth, gums and tongue.
As you swish the oil, Lipids in the oils begin to pull out toxins from the saliva.
As the oil continues to absorb toxins it usually ends up turning viscous and white.
I recommend starting with 5 minutes a day and build up to 20 minutes, the longer you swish the more bacteria you'll get rid of!

Many people including myself noticed whiter teeth, fresher breath and healthier gums in just a few weeks.

The preferred oil is Sesame oil (cold-pressed organic is best) which is very rich in nutrients. In Ayurveda sesame oil is considered the King of oils. (Not to be confused with toasted Sesame Oil)
Any high-quality plant based edible oil can be used, like organic coconut or olive oil.
