Dry brushing is one of Ayurveda’s daily self-care routines.
In Ayurveda we emphasize removing toxins from our body.
And it’s dry brushing that really stimulates the lymphatic system which helps remove accumulated toxins.
Dry brushing also has a positive effect on the immune, nervous, and digestive systems.
A wonderful by-product of dry brushing is that it fosters skin renewal and improves skin texture, giving your body a fresh new glow.
Dry Brush daily, before or after your shower.
Begin at your feet and with firm, vigorous, but not forceful strokes, brush your way upward.
Use circular motions around your knees and buttocks.
Brush your arms beginning at your hands and stroke toward your torso.
Use circular motions around your elbows and shoulders.
Brush your back and sides with upward strokes. This is an important area since we have hundreds of lymph nodes under our arms and around the sides of our chest.
On your front brush in a circular motion around your navel and then use circular motions around each side of the chest.
Remember, be gentle, work your way toward vigorous dry brushing, don’t over brush sensitive areas.
Right after dry brushing is the best time to oil your body using Tridoshic Face & Body Oil from Essential Ayurveda.
