Churnas | Ayurvedic Spice Blends for the Seasons

Adding spices enhances Agni - the digestive fire which aids in the process of digestion.

Vata Churna (spice blend)

Use this warming spice blend to balance your Agni during the dry colder months of autumn and early winter.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp. fennel Seeds

1 Tbsp. coriander Seeds

1 Tbsp. turmeric

1 Tbsp. dried basil

2 tsp. ginger

2 tsp. salt

1 tsp. asafetida

Directions - Grind everything in spice or coffee grinder or use all powder spices.


Pitta Churna (spice blend)  

Use this cooling spice blend to balance your Agni during the hotter months of late spring and summer.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp. coriander seeds

2 Tbsp. fennel seeds

2 Tbsp. cumin seeds

2 Tbsp. dried mint

1 Tbsp. turmeric

1 Tbsp. cardamom seeds

Directions - Grind everything in spice or coffee grinder or use all powder spices.


Kapha Churna (spice blend)  

Use this heating spice blend to balance your Agni during the wet cooler months of late winter and early spring.

Ingredients

2 Tbsp. coriander

1 Tbsp. cumin seeds

1 Tbsp. fenugreek seeds

1 Tbsp. turmeric

1 Tbsp. cinnamon

1 Tbsp. dried sage leaves

1 tsp. ground cloves

¼ tsp. cayenne

Directions - Grind everything in spice or coffee grinder or use all powder spices.
